For Kids Only, a non-profit faith-based organization, was founded in 1996 by Johanna Townsend. Johanna’s vision for the company came from working as an educator of children for over 35 years in the public and ministry sectors.The original purpose of FKO was to host seminars developed to equip children's ministry directors through workshops that addressed the latest issues in children’s ministry. As time went on our focus shifted to the needs of at-risk children and we were drawn to partner with other ministries to provide financial assistance. The next generation is being more negatively impacted by the culture than past generations .Our passion remains focused on empowering adults with resources which effectively teach the message of Jesus Christ to children. However our vision has been refocused through grant funding to programs focused on at-risk children.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration comes only by believing and accepting the necessity of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling empowers the Christian to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe that spiritual unity of believers is mandated in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Johanna Townsend

President of For Kids Only

Johanna has a heart for children! She has been blessed to minister to children for over 40 years, as a public school teacher, as the Director of Children's Ministry at Newport Mesa Christian Center in Costa Mesa, CA, and now as the President of For Kids Only. She has a B.A. in English and a Masters in Theological Studies. Johanna helped design the original curriculum used nationally and internationally by Royal Family Kids Camps, Inc. which minister to abused and neglected children world-wide. She has traveled nationally and internationally teaching training seminars for different Christian organizations such as Children's Pastors' Conference, TEACH, Latin America Child Care, Caribbean Christian Children's Workers, Saddleback Missions Project, and AOG Foreign Missions. With a great love for missions and pastoral work, Johanna cherishes the friendships she has nurtured with missionaries and pastors. In 1990, Johanna received the Award for Excellence in Children's Ministry at Children's Pastors' Conference. In 2005, she served as part of The White House Conference on Helping America's Youth. In 2006 she received the Founders Award from Royal Family Kids Camp, Inc. In that same year she received the Orange County Probation Department volunteer award and was Alumnus of the Year at Vanguard University. Johanna enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren and ministering as a Christian advocate for children alongside her husband Jim.

Our mission is two fold: to seek and to give.

We seek candidates with visions and goals resembling ours to qualify for grant funding. We want our passion to spread into the heart of those we assist and see lives of children changed as Christ is being shared.
