For Kids Only, a non-profit Christian organization, was founded in 1996 by Johanna Townsend. Johanna’s vision for the company came from working as an educator of children for over 35 years in the public and ministry sectors.
We began our journey hosting seminars in an effort to equip Children’s Ministry Directors through workshops that addressed the latest issues in Children’s Ministry.

Yet as time went on we felt more drawn to partnering with ministries that focus on the needs of children but may need assistance financially. The next generation is culturally impacted on a much deeper level than past generations, therefore we still have the desire to equip and empower adults to effectively teach the message of Jesus Christ. Now our vision has been refocused to serve Children’s Ministry through grantmaking of growing churches, inner city programs, children at risk programs and other ministries that cater to the changing needs of children and their families.

Johanna has a heart for children! She has been blessed to minister to children for over 35 years, as a public school teacher, as the Director of Children's Ministry at Newport Mesa Christian Center in Costa Mesa, CA., and now as the President of For Kids Only. She has a B.A. in English and a Masters in Theological Studies.

Johanna helped design the inspiring curriculum used nationally by Royal Family Kids Camps, Inc. to minister to abused and neglected children at camps nation-wide. She has traveled nationally and internationally teaching training seminars for different Christian organizations such as Children's Pastors' Conference, TEACH, Latin America Child Care, Carribian Christian Children's Workers and Saddleback Missions Project. With a great love for missions and pastoral work, Johanna cherishes the friendships she nurtures with missionaries and pastors.
In 1990 Johanna received the Award for Excellence in Children's Ministry at Children's Pastors' Conference. She enjoys ministering alongside her husband, Jim, in their company For Kids Only.

At For Kids Only, we view children as "arrows in the hand of a warrior." Just as a warrior can purposely direct his arrow, we desire to take every opportunity in being a part of aiming children toward God. This generation of children has been inundated by the world's influences and the after affects are staggering. Children's ministries within the church walls and beyond need every resource possible to ensure the strength of their programs. We maintain a close relationship with those who receive funding through prayer, training and site visits. For Kids Only has taken the next step in providing the necessary elements for a children's ministry outreach to go the extra mile in furthering the kingdom. We honor our commitment to the success of the ministries we support.

We seek candidates with visions and goals resembling ours to qualify for the giving of our grants. We want our passion to spread into the heart of those we assist and see lives of children changed as Christ is being shared. For Kids Only desires to raise the standard for resources and inspire undeveloped ministry avenues needed to help children grow spiritually.
